AEAonline™ Gets Security Boost
AEA Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) into AEAonline™. It’s a new layer of security that is now required by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC).
What is Multifactor Authentication (MFA)?
MFA offers an added layer of authentication to protect online users when they access online banking. It’s another way the computer identifies you when accessing your account information.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1. Secret Phrase
The next time you login to AEAonline, you will be asked to enter a secret phrase. In the future, this phrase will be displayed on the site whenever you login.
Secret phrase examples: Dog Lover, Think Pink, Go Scorpions!, Football Fan
(3-16 characters)
Step 2. Secret Image
You will be randomly assigned a secret image by MFA. After enrolling, have fun personalizing your secret image by changing it in the “Preferences” section. Choose from graphics of animals, musical instruments, landscape scenes, and more!
Step 3. Secret Questions
Finally, you will be asked to select and answer a few security questions.
Then, you’re done! The next time you login to AEAonline, MFA will display your personalized image and phrase. Seeing this information on the screen assures you that you are on AEA Federal Credit Union’s official website.
Internet security is a high priority at AEA Federal Credit Union. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have questions, please call 928.783.8881 or email membercare@aeafcu.org .
